This past Tuesday we strayed a little from our normal electronic concerts and took a night to go and check out up and coming R&B artist Tinashe as she brought her “Joyride World Tour” to Denver’s Ogden Theater. The young singer has been making a name for herself as she has released songs like “2 On” featuring producer/rapper Schoolboy Q, as well as a track titled “Post To Be” with rap powerhouse Chris Brown.
Over the past few months these tracks have gained massive traction and created a huge amount of hype around Tinashe, which translated into an absolutely packed house for the Denver stop on her tour. Before the signer-songwriter came on stage though, the Ogden crowd was treated to a performance by Denver’s very own Povi, whom along side her massive crew turned the Ogden into a massive dance-off prior to Tinashe’s performance. Packing the stage with her dance crew, DJs and more, Povi treated Denver to an energy-packed performance and even performed her latest hit Park Hill, featuring popular rapper ILoveMakkonen. The young Denver artist proved that she has a ton to offer the music world and is definitely an artist to keep an eye on.
After Povi left the stage, the young crowd was treated to one of the wildest drum solos Denver has ever experienced, as Tinashe’s band prepared the venue for her entrance. In a cloud of cryo and wash of lights the talented artist jumped up on stage and took the audience on a wild ride. Combining her moving and primarily fast-paced music along with the rhythm and movement of Tinashe and her crew of dancers, the singer captured the crowds’ attention and hearts. Performing all of her hits and taking the tempo down and getting more intimate with the crowd, her show took the energy all over the place and kept the audience engaged and in love with the whole show.
At the end of the night the crowd was reluctant to let the rising star leave the stage and begged for more. We are sure that Tinashe will be back soon but if you missed this show you really did miss out, as big things are definitely on the horizon for this extremely talented artist. Be sure to check out some of our images below and if you haven’t already, take a listen to some of her tracks and prepare for her return to Denver, which can’t come soon enough!
