[REVIEW & 360 VIDEO] EPROM Injects the Bass into Re:Search Wednesdays

Re:Search Wednesdays at Cervantes Masterpiece are a force to be reckoned with. Week after week, Re:Search books powerhouse acts in combination with local DJ’s to put on a thumping show from when the doors open to when the last person has left the venue. Show up on any Wednesday, regardless of if you know the artists playing, and you can expect a hype show. Previous weeks have featured Muzzy Bearr, The Geek x VRV, Artifakts, Two Fresh, and many more. Easily accessible by the light rail or by car, the 28th and Welton venue features two rooms, Cervantes and The Otherside, not to mention an outdoor patio and smoking section. It was my friend Jacks birthday, and a large group of us came out with spirits high and dancing shoes tied tight.

This weeks Re:Search Wednesdays featured a sold out show hosted by EPROM at The Other Side, with support from Project Aspect, The Orcastrator, Mikey Thunder, and Jubee. The mood was set with two massive laser projectors spurting multicolor beams at the crowd as well as a visual projector beaming tippy visuals onto the adjacent wall. His set was full of amorphous bass heaters, programming creatively between tracks amidst samples and effects lawyering the audio. As one half of the production duo SHADES, who recently had a tour stop at The Black Box with Ivy Lab, he ran through a setlist that included multiple Shades tracks, self-produced songs, VIPs, live edits, and tunes from friends like G Jones and Alix Perez. His “All Day” and “New Level” remixes brought the crowd to peak levels of hype. There was one instance when the audio cutting out and the crowd was met with silence, but the crowd responded to with howls of cheers and applause. Not letting it deter him, EPROM continued to close out his set without another mistake.

Next up was Project Aspect, but unfortunately I was unable to stay. However, Project Aspect is a Denver local and can often be found playing in the area. I have seen him perform in the past, and it was a hell of a show, crafted as a true live performer. A part of Denver’s Mile High Sound Movement, expect to continue seeing Project Aspects name in the future. He even just dropped a crazy remix of Kendrick Lamar’s Humble.

Be sure to check out Cervantes Event Calendar for upcoming events! See you next Wednesday!
