[PREVIEW] What’s Going on at Temple This Weekend? (2/16 & 2/17)

Dannic – Main Room (Friday 2/16)

What are they putting in the water in Breda, Netherlands? The quaint city has produced numerous superstar DJ’s, from Tiesto to Hardwell to Dannic. Daan Romers began his DJ career 10 years ago and has worked his way to the top, playing every gig he could find. Now you can find him on the main stage of EDC Las Vegas or as a familiar face in the DJ Mag Top 100.  While many producers have a distaste for being referred to as DJ’s, Dannic says that “…a lot of people know me as a producer but I like to see myself as a DJ who started producing.” His technical sets have reached millions of ears, and they can rach yours too this Friday at Temple!

J.Worra – LVL (Friday 2/16)

Meanwhile, the Downtown Diva will be stirring up the party at LVL. J. Worra (not to be confused with Dirtybird’s J.Phlip) is guaranteed to mix up the house. Her tracks are bouncy and articulate, accompanied by deep pulsing basslines. She has been booked for major festivals like Lightning in a Bottle and Beyond Wonderland and is certainly a woman to watch! For all the house fans out there, this is one you won’t want to miss!

Sam Pace (Saturday 2/17)

Pace yourself. There’s nothing worse than busting out all your moves during the first 5 minutes on the dancefloor or having to carry out your friend who kept insisting that “its triple shots or nothing.” Thankfully, Sam Pace will be on the decks to set the pace (like tempo, get it?) With a natural ear for track selection and impeccable mixing technique, Sam seduces the crowd with a span of sub-genres. Dividing her time between nightclubs and studio sessions, Sam is forging a sound to make an impact on modern dance music.

Y2K – LVL (Saturday 2/17)

His bio reads “professional sellout”, but even when remixing Y2K produces a sound that’s all his own. Expect in-your-face growling basslines, distortion, and emotional melodies. Just take a scroll down his soundcloud and you’ll find yourself compulsively reposting tracks and commenting fire emoji’s. In songs like his Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2 Remix or his Higher Remix, he manages to keep the core melody intact, while completely rewriting the song. We’re in the 21st century and Y2K is writing the soundtrack.  Oh and by the way, he’s giving out free financial advice, so I think you owe it to check out his show.
