In less than two weeks, America’s favorite waterpark music festival returns for its seventh year. For the sixth year it will be taking place in the Phoenix area (technically Tempe) and this will be the fifth year in a row that it will take place at Big Surf Waterpark. The festival started in 2011 in southern California, hosting two events in September. In 2012 the event relocated to Wet ‘N’ Wild Waterpark in Phoenix, AZ. The very next year Big Surf Waterpark, in Tempe, began playing host and the rest is history.
Over the years names like Dada Life, Flux Pavilion, Dash Berlin, Morgan Page, Crizzly, Paul Oakenfold, Tiësto, Dillon Francis, 3LAU, and Bro Safari have all graced the floating stage. This year’s lineup is highlighted by heavy hitters Diplo, Borgore, Anna Lunoe, Audien, and YOOKie. It will also feature a tantalizing “RBDeep Takevover” consisting of AC Slater, Jimmy Edgar, Justin Jay, Kill Frenzy, and Wax Motif.
The event, produced by Activated & Relentless Beats, will go from 11am until 9pm, giving party goers all the sunshine, H2O, and bass they can ask for. In addition to this triple threat, patrons will be hard-pressed to keep the smiles off their faces with the all of the waterslides and bars that the park has to offer. Last but certainly not least, the venue is also home to the country’s largest wave pool; a massive 2.5 million gallon behemoth.
So get ready to swap out the snowboard boots for the flip flops and the skinny jeans for the bathing suits, cause on April 29th summer will have officially arrived. Ticket prices increase Friday at midnight, so don’t delay, get ’em today!
