[PREVIEW] Award-nominated duo, The Crystal Method @ Beta

Throughout the past two decades, the musical landscape has continually merged, morphed, and matrixed, fractured in countless directions while intersecting at the most unexpected points.  Electronic music underwent a renaissance in the aughts, rising out of the warehouses and blank spaces and overtaking the biggest festival fields in the world. THE CRYSTAL METHOD followed a similar trajectory since their formation in 1993. The Grammy Award®-nominated, platinum-certified trailblazing duo—Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland—set the stage for the genre-mashing electronic sounds that fuel the current zeitgeist.

The Crystal Method will be playing at Beta Nightclub on Saturday, June 10th at 9:00 p.m. Originating in Los Angeles, California in 1993, Jordan and Kirkland have released four well-known, popular projects. Their 1997 debut LP, Vegas, is a mixture of big beat, funk, acid and rock. Tweekend was the duo’s follow-up release four years later. Legion of Boom (2004) was the duo’s third release containing the popular song “Born Too Slow” featuring vocals by John Garcia, lead vocals for Kyuss, and guitar strings from Linkin Park’s Wes Borland. The song was first debuted on EA’s Need For Speed: Underground soundtrack in 2004. Not too long after, the duo’s soundtrack to the film, Londonlanded a year later.

Don’t miss out on The Crystal Method playing at Beta Nightclub Saturday June 10th.
