With the legendary LCD Soundsystem recently announcing that they would be getting the band back together and going on tour, it was only appropriate that their schedule include perhaps the most legendary venue in North America. That venue being our very own Red Rocks, of course. James Murphy and his all-star ensemble will be taking the stage in Morrison on Tuesday, August 2nd and Wednesday, August 3rd, for back-to-back nights that are sure to sell out and sure to create some serious FOMO.
The dance-punk/live electronica act said farewell in 2011 after an epic final performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden, but last October announced that they would be reuniting and going on tour, highlighting a headlining performance at the immensely-popular Coachella in California. In addition, they announced that they would be recording a new album, and in February signed to Columbia records. Just hours earlier today, they announced what many had already anticipated; two nights of shows at Red Rocks. Accompanying the band will be Savages, a post-punk band out of Britain, and LCD Soundsystem drummer Pat Mahoney’s own project, Museum of Love. Tickets go on sale this Friday, April 1st, at 10am MST. We highly suggest you jump on them, as this could be your last chance to see one of this generation’s greatest bands, especially at a venue like the Rocks.
