HudMo Is Heading to CO

If you consider yourself electronic music fan, it is time you get familiar with Hudson Mohawke. The title “super-producer” gets tossed around often these days, but n my opinion Hudson is one of the few who has truly earned the title. Through his wide range of diverse projects and eclectic productions, Hudson has done more to evolve electronic music and hip-hop than most artists.Raised in Glasgow, Scottland, Ross Brichard started off as a scratch DJ, earning the title of youngest ever DMC finalist. From there he reached out to Red Bull Music Academy, and while attending one of their event’s in Toronto made his first contact with Warp Records. In 2009 he officially signed with Warp and released his debut album Butter soon after. Seven years later, Husdon continues to push his releases from the prolific UK based label.

HudMo has also become a formidable name in the hip-hop community. Over time he has worked with some of the most recognizable names in the music industry, ranging from Drake, Lil Wayne, Bjork, R Kelly, Big Sean, Pusha T, Pharrell, Mark Ronson, Miguel, John Legend Future and Rick Ross to name a few.Naturally, this experience caught the attention of Noisey, who commissioned him to produce a massive project known as The Rap Monument. Along with producers S-Type and Nick Hook, Hudson orchestrated a 40-minute masterpiece featuring 36 rappers including Young Thug, Danny Brown, Pusha T, YG, Killer Mike, Action Bronson, Problem, Flatbush Zombies and many more.

Additional releases by Hudson Mohawke include Satin Panthers EP in 2011, Chimes EP in 2014 and most recently Lantern in 2015. However, HudMo may be known best through his collaboration with Canadian producer Lunice through their side-project, TNGHT. Released in 2012 through Warp and LuckyMe, the self-titled EP caught the Internet by storm and continues to set precedents for what can be done in electronic music.
Last but certainly not least, HudMo has been working heavily with G.O.O.D. Music since 2012. Under G.O.O.D. Music Hudson has worked closely with Kanye West on production for his 3 most recent projects, Cruel Summer, Yeezus and The Life of Pablo. Remember the song Mercy that took the summer of 2012 by storm? Yeah that was Hudson.

At a ripe age of 30, Ross Brichard isn’t going anywhere soon. I can’t wait to see what he comes out with next and am even more excited to see his live performance at Cervantes Masterpiece in Denver on April 26th ! (Tickets) One of my favorite venues in all of Denver, Cervantes provides personal and intimate experiences with some of the biggest names in music. For a more in depth taste of HudMo’s work, I suggest checking out the following songs.
