Last Thursday, progressive artists Giraffage and XXYYXX played the Ogden, accompanied by an amazing supporting lineup of Wingtip and Milky.WAV.
I didn’t really know what to expect from an XXYYXX set coming in, but what I saw definitely solidified the young producer as one of the best in the game. He was able to mix his own dreamy, synthy music with hard hitting trap songs to craft a set with a solemn, emotional story that left me with a touch of catharsis.
Charlie Yin, better known as the fresh producer Giraffage has always been a leader of the progression of electronic music and has always challenged himself to create unparalleled music. Armed with an array of some of the most unique music in the genre, Giraffage crafted a set with uplifting tracks, feel good remixes, and extremely dirty bangers. This combined with a variety of enticing visuals and a passionate crowd that wouldn’t stop moving allowed for one of the most lively shows I’ve seen.
