We’re turning the clock back a few years with this chill, bass-heavy melody from one of the OGs of dubstep, who goes by the name of Skream. Skream may have recently made the transition to nu disco, but he will always be known for being one of the most influential dubstep artists ever. This track is a great example of how dubstep doesn’t have to be all about the over-dramatic bass drops and robotic womps and wobbles that quickly became all too cliche. When Skream helped pioneer the genre it was all about deep, minimal bass lines that complimented the rest of the track, rather than drowning it out. But, as this track proves, fewer dramatic elements doesn’t have to mean it’s any less melodic or emotional.
