[REVIEW] Global Dance – A Start to the Arizona Festival Season

After a long summer’s wait, Global Dance Festival offered a strong start to Arizona’s outdoor festival season. With a lineup including Gareth Emery, Yellow Claw, and Showtek there was no shortage of talent from all over the world. The night started off with the soothing sounds of
EcoTek and gradually progressed into a full on rager. The party started early and went until late offering over nine hours of music to vibe out and dance to.

Gareth Emery was one of the most soothing artists of the night and served up a heaping helping of trance and progressive house. His sound always mellows out the crowd and puts everyone into a good headspace. The beats encourage unity and peace between audience members and to open your heart to those around you. The vibes that Gareth Emery brought upon the crowd were just what the Rawhide needed before getting ready to rage.

Up next Yellow Claw took the stage and absolutely killed their set which was full of new releases. Yellow Claw showed off the same crowd control that was memorable at Crush Music Festival. Their playlist was electrifying and brought the genres of trap, hardstyle and big room
house to the absolute extreme. This thunderous act had the whole crowd in an absolute frenzy. Next time Yellow Claw flies out from Amsterdam I suggest you don’t miss their performance.

The night finished out with energetic performances by Showtek and Flosstradamus which kept that audience pumped up and energized. This festival was set up a little differently than most at Rawhide since all performances were back to back on one stage. By using only the outdoor stage the inner warehouse became a chill spot to take a break from the action. Indoors was also a great place to socialize and meet up with friends both new and old. There were a western backdrop and a photo booth that offered ample choices to snap a shot to memorialize this event. The big GLOBAL letters outside also offered a Hollywood-esque backdrop for some perfect group photos.
