[Preview] Mako To Bring Live Show To Denver

Having had massive success with the Billboard-charting tracks “Smoke Filled Room” and “I Won’t Let You Walk Away” back in 2015 one of the incredible DJ/Producers behind Mako, now gone solo, reincarnates the project as a live act heading out on the road.

18673308_1572586439442690_6993412623858715679_oAlex Seaver, one of Mako’s original members, has re-taken up the challenge of leading a four-piece live band which toured in 2017 and has headed out to start 2018 with a massive 33 date tour that includes Denver’s intimate Larimer Lounge as one of it’s leading stops. Set for February 2nd the performance will support the latest release from Mako, titled “Breathe”. This refreshing new project takes a different path than previous party anthem releases from the then duo back in 2015/16 and instead follows a slower more instrumental focused direction. Gone are the overly poppy chorus found in “Smoke Filled Room” or (the track that led me personally to Mako) “Our Story” and instead an emphasis on vocal performance and complex beats takes the lead.

This musical shift is one that while I will admit was not necessarily seen coming does seem like an interesting new direction for the group, especially as it translates over into a live performance aspect. Unkown to many, Seaver’s vocals were used on Steve Angelo’s hit track “Children Of The Wild”, and I personally can’t wait to hear more vocal production from the young talent.

You can grab your tickets to see Mako live at Larimer Lounge on Feb. 2nd HERE and be sure to check out their latest track “Breathe” below!
