There is so much to be said about Laidback Luke. I’ll start with the fact that he is one of the most genuine figures in dance music. He sincerely cares about his fan base and consistently makes an effort to push the industry forward by teaching the next generation of DJ’s. He pumps out vlogs and tutorials to his social media channels, keeping fans updated on his life and offering insight into the process and skills producers and DJ’s should be familiar with. Whether you want to learn about mastering, sidechaining, melodies, or controller techniques, Luke has you covered. His vast experience lends him much credibility. Luke has been producing and DJing since the 90’s, working with legends from Green Velvet to Carl Cox. In a more contemporary context, he has remixed artists like Mariah Carey, Robin Thicke, Madonna and Nicki Minaj. All this plus his very own record label, Mixmash. This show will be anything but laid-back.
Finishing up the weekend strong comes Fedde Le Grand. Everyone has their own opinion on the credibility of the DJ Mag top 100, but it is impossible to deny that someone who has been on the list every year since 2007 deserves it. Fedde Le Grand has legitimate technical mixing skill and impeccable taste. I’ve listened to countless of his Darklight mixes on soundcloud and each and every one is straight fuego (if you are into house music). His most recent mix is #276. Yes, he has put out 16,560 minutes of mixes, and that is only counting his Darklight mixes. Do you know how long it would take you to listen to that? Well, I already told you it would be 16,560 minutes. Of all the artists I’ve seen come through Temple thus far, I’d say Fedde one of my favorites! If you haven’t heard of him before, now is your chance to get familiar.
