The end of the year is around the corner, which means it’s time to plan your party endeavors accordingly to maximize your time. Here are the best shows I think one should plan around, in chronological order.
1. deadmau5 2 day set at Red Rocks – Oct. 19-21
One of the first EDM artists I ever listened to, Deadmau5 introduced me to the electronic scene years ago while studying abroad in Germany. I saw him briefly a few years ago at Decadence 2016, but an artist as big and phenomenal as this is definitely worth seeing multiple times. If you never have, absolutely make time and money to see on of the legends.
2. Papadosio at various venues – Oct. 26-29
Hosting the majority in Colorado, Papadosio‘s ‘Rave from the Grave‘ tour begins its first night at Belly Up, Aspen, then two nights at Boulder Theater before finishing at The Aggie in Fort Collins. Colorado’s own DYNOHUNTER and Bass Physics will be performing at the Boulder Theater, whom are both some of the best Colorado has ever produced.
3. The Arrival & Grand Opening at Temple Nightclub – Oct. 27-28 & Nov. 3-4
A lot of hype has been surrounding “The Arrival”; the opening weekend of Denver’s newest nightclub, Temple. The first weekend will feature Blasterjaxx on Friday and Showtek on Saturday. But that’s not all. The grand opening is slated for the following weekend and will host NERVO on Friday and MAKJ on Saturday. We can’t wait to see what this San Francisco concept has in store for the 303. See what other events they’ve got in store here.
4. Electronic Colorado 5 Year Anniversary at The Black Box Lounge- Nov. 10
Shameless plug, but hey, it’s our five year anniversary! We’re keeping it simple in the lounge at The Black Box and focusing on the vibe and the music. We’ve got some old and new favorite local friends and DJs performing – Aaron Bordas (ELCO’s #1 local DJ of 2016) and Action 52 (coming out of retirement for this special night!) Mystery duo Hot Surfaces round out the announced lineup, but we may have one more trick or two up our sleeve. Hope to see you out for this free event dedicated to celebrating our amazing local scene!
5. LCD Soundsystem at 1STBANK Center – Nov. 11th
A long time favorite band, LCD Soundsystem has held a special place in my heart – one of those that remind you of a very specific memory that you recall every time you hear them. Especially with a new album out this year, you would be the first to hear their new album here in Colorado!
6. Deorro at The Church Nightclub – Dec. 8th
Deorro’s song ‘5 hours’ I could listen to for five hours. Having never heard him before nor been to The Church Nightclub yet, which I have heard is worth going to, why not make a holiday festival out of it? Why not get naughty in a church before the new year?
7. Parade of Lasers at The Fillmore Auditorium – Dec. 16th
I believe the name speaks for itself – what could be better for the holiday season!? A parade within an auditorium will be interesting to see for sure, but anything with ‘lasers’ and I’m sold. Also, Flux Pavilion puts on a rowdy and intense show that anybody who wants to rage face would appreciate. Plus it’s my birthday, so come party with me!
8. The Polish Ambassador at The Boulder Theater – Dec. 29-31
What better way to spend the New Years than a three day bash in Boulder!? Why celebrate the end of 2017 (or the beginning of 2018) with one night when you can for three consecutive nights with The Polish Ambassador!? Having seen him several times trust me, you won’t be disappointed in the lease.
9. Decadence at Colorado Convention Center – Dec. 31st
Decadence – a decay in morals. A perfect way to finish the year and begin the next with a ‘clean’ slate. Yes, the name itself says a lot of what to expect, and when you see the lineup you would understand why it would be THE night of all nights to loose yourself. The lineup this year is too amazing to begin to list, so you can check it out for yourself HERE and find out for yourself why it’s worth going to.
There you have it party people; not only is this my lineup for the rest of the year, but yours should probably be something similar. If you want to have a fantastic rest of 2017 and a great beginning to your new year follow me with my path of amazing shows, killer sets, and unforgettable, and sometime forgettable, memories to be made.
