A few weeks ago I had the honor of attending the red carpet premier of Beat4Tanner at Children’s Hospital Colorado, after being personally invited by Tanner’s parents, Matt and Stephanie Seebaum. If you aren’t familiar with Tanner’s story and the Tanner Seebaum Foundation, you can read all about it here. In a nutshell, Tanner was a good kid who grew up in Colorado and like many other Colorado kids today dreamed of being a DJ. But two things separated Tanner from most of his peers; for one, his work ethic and talent level was mostly unrivaled, and two, he had been diagnosed with brain cancer as a toddler.
Despite such a tragic diagnosis that would cripple most people, especially at such a young age, Tanner didn’t let it stop him from chasing his dreams. And in just the short 16 years that he lived, he achieved more than most people do in 60. Yes, the film certainly tugged at the heartstrings and tears were certainly shed, but in the end it left you with a feeling of hope and inspiration.
Take that moving and emotionally-gripping background and throw in some energetic live EDM concert footage, a lot of bass, and exclusive interviews and comments from artists like Destructo, Diplo, Skrillex, Downlink, Reid Speed, Datsik, Ishe, Krewella, Dirt Monkey, and Fury, and what do you have? A touching, entertaining, and expertly made documentary film.
We here at Electronic Colorado are just a few more of the people that have been touched by Tanner’s inspirational life, and we fully believe that once you see the film you will be too. We encourage you to support pediatric brain cancer research and the Tanner Seebaum Foundation and consider purchasing the film through one of the outlets below.
