It is exactly one month until the bass prophet, better known as Bassnectar, makes his return to the holy land of bass. On Friday July 29th, and Saturday July 30th, Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Denver will play host to one of the biggest bass music events in the world, dubbed Bass Center 2016. Six years after the first Bass Center took place in Broomfield, CO at the appropriately named 1st Bank Center, Lorin Ashton is bringing it back to where it all started, and with quite the cast. Supporting Bassnectar’s extended sets will be Flux Pavilion, Wu Tang Clan, Flying Lotus, Porter Robinson, Lupe Fiasco, AlunaGeorge, Minnesota, G Jones, Dabin, and Thriftworks.
But the fun won’t stop when Dick’s quiets down. For those brave souls whose tank isn’t completely on E, the Gothic Theatre on south Broadway in Englewood will just be heating up. Friday night will see ill.Gates headline the after hours shenanigans, with additional sets from RUN DMT, Moddy Good, and more unannounced acts. On Saturday things will really be kicked in to high gear, as Minnesota will be going back with G Jones, and Luzcid, Big Makk, and more will also be taking the stage.
ill.Gates has long been a favorite amongst Denver bass heads, and RUN DMT will be making his first appearance in Denver since his show last fall at The 1up Colfax, which to everyone’s surprise ended up being the very last show to take place at the charming venue that closed all too soon. But after seeing G Jones throw down one of the best sets of the entire weekend back in April at Euphoria Music Festival, we are particularly excited to see him go back to back with talented producer Minnesota.
And those are just the artists that have been announced! Who knows who else might show up for arguably the biggest weekend of the year for bass music in Colorado. Perhaps Flux Pavilion will make a cameo, or maybe even the man himself, Bassnectar? OK, it’s very unlikely either of those guys will, but we can hope can’t we?!
Last but not least, we are giving away a pair of tickets for each show. Keep scrolling down for those, plus ticket links, some sick tracks, and more. And start getting ready for an extra helping of BASS.
