ELCO Charity Campaign

In 2018 Electronic Colorado headed in a different direction. We felt it was time to branch off on a new and more meaningful path and use our industry experience to make a bigger difference in peoples’ lives. For people within the music community, sure, but also within our own local community. That year, we were lucky enough to get approval from Colorado’s most iconic venue, Red Rocks, to host a series of charity drives there – right at one of the venue entrances.

In all, we hosted 12 events at Red Rocks that season, where fans generously donated food, money, and other items. In exchange, we worked with numerous artists who were playing Red Rocks, to hook up participating fans with prizes like concert tickets, merch packs, and artist meet & greets.

We’re happy to say that we’ve extended our contract with Red Rocks to continue these efforts through the 2019 concert season! But that isn’t all. This year, we will also be hosting a series of “pop up” events at various breweries and businesses around the Front Range, where we will be setting up a table at a designated time and inviting our fans to drop by, make a donation, and enjoy a fine Colorado craft beer or two (don’t worry – if you’re under 21 you can still make a donation!). Just like with Red Rocks, those donations will enter you into our raffle to win all sorts of great prizes.

Why?

We are organizing this for a few different reasons. First and foremost, we want to use the power of music, specifically electronic music, to do good. The scene and fanbase here is unlike any other in the world, and there is no reason that we shouldn’t be harnessing that energy to give back to our community and those in need. The dance music world is rooted in peace, love, unity, and respect, so we think it’s time to take that mentality to the next level and really make a difference.

Secondly, the fans deserve it. Colorado fans (and EDM fans in general) are passionate, tireless, committed, informed, open minded, and generous. They spend countless dollars on concert tickets to see and support their favorite DJs, producers, and bands over the years, and they deserve to be rewarded for that. We want to do our part in thanking them, as do all of the artists, promoters, and venues that work with us on these projects.

What’s the gist?

Every campaign/show is unique, but here’s how it works in a nutshell; we work with various artists performing at Red Rocks over the course of the concert season to offer enticing & unique prizes and opportunities to fans in exchange for helping make a difference in our community. The artists we work with are both headliners and supporting acts, and we will partner with as many as possible. Prizes vary from free Red Rocks tickets to meet & greets to backstage tours to merch packs.

So, how do you go about winning these prizes? Pretty simple. For each event, we will have a booth set up on-site at Red Rocks. Unless otherwise noted, that booth will be set up at the Upper South Lot, right next to the base of the ramp that leads to the venue. Below you can find a map with that area highlighted.

 

At the booth we will be accepting a variety of donations. In 2018, the majority of donations raised were for Metro Caring, the area’s “leading hunger relief organization directly serving families and individuals”. In 2019, we plan to work with a different nonprofit for each event. So far this year we’ve worked with Casa de Paz, The Blue Bench, Conscious Alliance, and Elevating Connections. Typically we try to work with a nonprofit that coincides with a national cause/awareness for that given month. For instance, April was Sexual Assault Awareness Month, so we worked with The Blue Bench – an organization dedicated to ending sexual assault.

For each item you donate, you will receive a designated number of raffle entries (in most cases $1 = 1 entry). At the time of your donation, we will take down your contact info which we will use to notify you if you win. Once all donations have been received, we will randomly select the winning raffle tickets and notify the winners.

In certain cases, we may also run an online giveaway to help spread the word about the campaign, where we will most likely give away concert tickets and/or meet and greets.
