It’s already been a fantastic week for Colorado EDM events and it’s only Thursday. Hatcha and Ivy Lab went OFF in the lounge at The Black Box on Tuesday and Jackmaster last night at Bar Standard was also lit. Hopefully you saved a little bit for the weekend ’cause it’s not slowin’ down at all.
5. SoDown at Fox Theatre – Friday
Ehren Wright, aka SoDown, sold out and crushed Cervantes’ main room just a few weeks ago, so there’s no reason to believe that his hometown show this Friday at the Fox in Boulder will be any different. There might even still be time left to enter our giveaway here, if you haven’t already.
4. A-Trak & Baauer at Beta Nightclub – Thursday
The weekend starts TONIGHT (Thursday), with a huge b2b lineup featuring long-time mixmaster A-Trak and modern bass music icon, Baauer. Who really knows exactly what to expect when these two artists from different backgrounds take the decks, but one thing’s for sure – it’s gonna be fun.
3. The Black Box 1 Year Anniversary at The Black Box – Saturday
Can you believe The Black Box has already been open for a year? And what an awesome year it was for the underground bass music venue, owned by Nicole Cacciavillano, the mastermind behind Sub.mission dubstep. They’ve got quite the night in store, with a massive lineup of heavy hitters including Quest, Silkie, Sleeper, Mesck, Oxossi, and many more. We’ve worked a lot with The Black Box over the past year and our 5 year anniversary in their lounge last week was a huge success. We will be continuing to work with them (big announcement forthcoming) and wish them nothing but success in the years to come.
2. Bingo Players at Temple Nightclub – Friday
Colorado’s most talked-about new venue, Temple, is off to a roaring start and they aren’t slowing down this weekend with Bingo Players coming to town. Normally an artist that plays at Beta, it will be fun to see BP in a different environment and one that should cater perfectly to his electro house sound.
1. RL Grime & more at 1stBank Center – Saturday
The reason this is our #1 pick comes down to nothing more than the lineup. Obviously RL Grime is a huge headliner, but the supporting cast is just as good: Jai Wolf, Graves, and Kittens. Jai Wolf has had numerous megahits the last couple of years and has become a regular festival main stage performer. Graves is quickly rising to stardom in the future bass / trap genre, and Kittens is currently one of the hottest acts coming out of LA, already having garnered support from the likes of Usher, Kid Cudi, Skrillex, The Gaslamp Killer, Salva, A-Trak, and more.
